Hope Town, Abaco Family Portraits | Children on Vacation

A surprising fact about being a photographer in paradise, is that many of my clients are photographers themselves.  At first I found it odd when photographers began requesting my services. You'd think that someone who knows how to take great photos and owns all of the needed equipment would just do it themselves, right?

It turns out that photographers have a hard time taking portraits of themselves enjoying their vacation with their family. Putting your camera on a tripod with a remote isn't very easy with young children on the beach. Photographers also know the value of getting family portraits done.

Carrie, a photographer from Colorado, was no different. She first got in touch with me before Christmas. Planning to visit The Abacos in The Bahamas in Feburary, she knew that she wanted me to take photos of her and her two little girls. We chose Hopetown, a small village on Elbow Cay, Abaco as our portrait location. It couldn't have been a better choice. The brightly colored houses,  candy striped light house and gorgeous white sandy beach were a perfect back drop for portraits.

It was so much fun to watch the girls explore the beach and play in the water. It was obvious they both loved the ocean! It was also obvious that Carrie enjoyed the freedom of being on the other side of the lens for once.

Carrie also wrote a blog post on her vacation adventures to The Bahamas if you wanted to check it out.
